GIU Launches the School of Medical Professions

We are proud to announce the establishment of the Dr. Roselyn Payne Epps School of Medical Professions at Graham International University (GIU)—a major milestone in our continued commitment to advancing healthcare education, leadership, and global impact.

Named in honor of the late Dr. Roselyn Payne Epps, a trailblazer in medicine and public health, the School reflects our mission to prepare compassionate, highly skilled professionals equipped to serve diverse communities and evolving healthcare systems worldwide.

Academic Programs and Specializations

The Dr. Roselyn Payne Epps School of Medical Professions offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees across five core disciplines, supported by a comprehensive range of professional specializations:

  • Nursing Practice: Specializations include Critical Care, Informatics, Pediatrics, Perioperative, and Psychiatric–Mental Health.
  • Medical Science: Specializations include Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), Oncology, Orthopaedics, Pediatrics, Primary Care, Psychiatry, Radiology, and Surgical Sciences.
  • Physical Therapy: Specializations include Cardiovascular and Pulmonary, Clinical Electrophysiology, Exercise Physiology, Geriatrics, Kinesiology, Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, and Sports.
  • Social Work: Specializations include Adults and Aging, Children, Youth and Families, Community and Social Systems, Healthcare, Leadership and Social Change, Mental Health, and School Social Work.
  • Public Health: Specializations include Community Health, Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, Global Health, Health Informatics, Health Promotion and Education, Maternal and Child Health, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).

Academic Leadership

Prof. Paul Jeffrey Borja

We are honored to appoint Prof. Paul Jeffrey Borja as Director of the Dr. Roselyn Payne Epps School of Medical Professions.

Prof. Borja is a distinguished Filipino-American healthcare executive and educator with over two decades of leadership experience in case management, nursing, social work integration, palliative care, and organizational strategy. 

He holds multiple doctoral degrees, including a Doctor of Business Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from American Management University and a Professional Doctorate in Healthcare Administration from The Thames International University, along with additional doctorates in law, education, and nursing practice. 

He currently serves as Director of Case Management, Social Work, and Palliative Care at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento. A nationally recognized speaker and published author, he previously served as National Secretary of CMSA and is now President of the CMSA Sacramento Chapter.

Bege Mathias, DBA
Bege Mathias, DBA

Dr. Bege Mathias is a Digital Marketing Manager and Affiliated Professor at GIU. He holds a DBA in Online Marketing, an M.Sc. in Business Administration, and a B.Sc. in Political Science. He was awarded an Honorary Professorship by Graham International University in recognition of his outstanding contributions as a Digital Marketing Manager at The Frankie Graham Jr. Foundation. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Digital Marketing. With extensive digital marketing experience across Nigeria, Canada, the UK, and the US, Dr. Mathias has consistently excelled in organically enhancing the digital visibility of institutions.
