GIU Launches Juris Doctor (J.D.) Program at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law

Graham International University (GIU) is pleased to announce the launch of its Juris Doctor (J.D.) program under the prestigious Thurgood Marshall School of Law, marking a major milestone in the university’s continued academic expansion and commitment to global legal education.

The newly introduced Juris Doctor program is designed to provide rigorous, practice-oriented legal training for aspiring legal professionals, executives, policymakers, and scholars seeking advanced legal expertise. The program offers 14 specializations, allowing students to tailor their legal education to their career goals and areas of interest. These specializations include:

• Banking Law
• Civil Law
• Civil Rights Law
• Comparative Law
• Corporate Law
• Criminal Law
• Dispute Resolution
• Environmental Law
• Family Law
• Health Law
• Human Rights Law
• International Law
• Medical Law
• Tax Law

Each Juris Doctor degree consists of 30 modules, totaling 90 credits, with a flexible duration of 3 to 4 years, accommodating both full-time and working professionals.

Tuition and Flexible Payment Options

The regular tuition fee for the J.D. program is $30,000 (USD). However, GIU is currently offering a limited-time discounted one-time fee of $9,000, making the program highly accessible to a global audience. In addition, students may choose from flexible installment plans:

• Initial payment of $1,000 plus $800 per month for 12 months, or
• Initial payment of $1,000 plus $400 per month for 24 months.

Academic Leadership

The Juris Doctor program is led by Professor Tan Kwan Hong, GIU’s Provost and Dean, who serves as Director of the School of Law. Professor Tan is the CEO of Tan Kwan Hong Academy and holds multiple international academic appointments, including Visiting Professor at the European Institute of Management & Technology (EIMT) and Associate Professor at European International University.

With over 17 years of global experience, Professor Tan is widely recognized for his contributions to education, corporate consulting, and public speaking. He holds more than 120 academic and professional degrees across diverse disciplines and has delivered lectures and keynote speeches to over 1.5 million people worldwide, bringing unparalleled academic depth and leadership to the program.
