Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil) in Philosophy of Law
Our Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil) in Philosophy of Law explores the conceptual foundations of legal systems, justice, and morality. Students examine key issues such as the relationship between law and ethics, legal interpretation, and theories of obligation. The program encourages rigorous philosophical critique of legal doctrines while providing training in legal writing, research, and public policy. Students will complete a dissertation that engages with contemporary or historical legal-philosophical debates. This program prepares graduates for careers in academic law, legal ethics, jurisprudence, public service, and advisory roles in justice-oriented organizations.
