
Dr. Emmanuel Daanoba Sunkari Awarded Honorary Professorship by GIU
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the fields of mining engineering, geological sciences, and sustainable environmental management, Prof. (Hon.) Dr. Emmanuel Daanoba Sunkari has been awarded an Honorary Professorship by Graham International University (GIU).
Prof. Sunkari, currently an Associate Professor of Mining Engineering at Sir Padampat Singhania University in India, is internationally renowned for his interdisciplinary work that merges technical expertise with sustainable development practices. With a robust academic and research background in mineral exploration, economic geology, geochemistry, and community-centered environmental strategies, he has become a transformative figure in the integration of engineering with sustainability and societal impact.

GIU conferred this honorary title in recognition of Prof. Sunkari’s remarkable academic achievements, global research collaborations, and sustained leadership in scholarly publishing. With over 100 peer-reviewed publications, more than 1,500 citations, and an H-index of 22, his work has significantly shaped modern practices in geological and environmental engineering. His contributions are widely published in leading scientific journals such as Elsevier and Springer Nature, and he continues to play a critical role as an editor and peer reviewer for over 30 international journals.
Prof. Sunkari’s academic excellence is further highlighted by his top-ranking recognition in the AD Scientific Index, where he is currently listed as the 3rd Best Scientist at Sir Padampat Singhania University and the 1st Best Earth Scientist at the institution. His editorial service includes roles with prominent journals such as Discover Sustainability, Discover Geoscience, Discover Environment, Discover Water, and Deep Underground Science and Engineering (DUSE).
His distinguished career includes past appointments as a Lecturer at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Ghana, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and a Research Fellow of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science from the University for Development Studies, Ghana, followed by graduate degrees in Geological Engineering from leading Turkish institutions, where he graduated at the top of his class.
