GIU Confers Honorary Professorship on Dr. Duong Van Sinh

Graham International University (GIU) is proud to announce the conferment of an Honorary Professorship on Dr. Duong Van Sinh, recognizing his outstanding scientific contributions, groundbreaking innovations in environmental sustainability, and leadership in advancing global green technologies.

Dr. Sinh, an accomplished environmental scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur, holds a Doctor of Science degree in Environmental Science alongside advanced qualifications in Business Administration and Social Sciences. His unique academic and professional background has enabled him to merge cutting-edge scientific research with practical business strategies, delivering solutions to some of today’s most urgent environmental challenges.

Over the past decade, Dr. Sinh has become an international leader in sustainable energy solutions, particularly in the regeneration and recycling of lead-acid batteries—a pressing global issue in waste management and energy sustainability. As Project Manager at Green Batteries Remake Pty Ltd (Sydney, Australia), he led a USD 2 million R&D initiative that produced a patented lead-acid battery regeneration system. The project resulted in a market-ready product that generated USD 3 million in its first year and supported the construction of a large-scale battery recycling plant valued at USD 2.5 million.

His invention, the “Lead Acid Battery Generator and Method of Generating Lead Acid Battery” (2019), stands as a milestone in environmentally friendly technology, reducing toxic waste and extending the lifespan of millions of batteries. Building on this achievement, Dr. Sinh spearheaded the ambitious “One Million Green Batteries” project, aiming to regenerate one million discarded batteries within five years—a model now being explored in countries such as India, Fiji, and Australia.

Beyond industry, Dr. Sinh has made significant academic and scientific contributions in both Vietnam and Australia. He has served as Chairman of the Scientific Council at the Institute for Disaster and Environment Research (Vietnam), and previously directed the Center for Research and Production of Green Energy under the Institute of Aeronautical Science. His work has guided renewable energy research, disaster mitigation strategies, and international collaborations on sustainability.

In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Sinh was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Ministry of Science (2024). The new Honorary Professorship from GIU further affirms his role as a global leader in environmental science, technology innovation, and sustainable development.

With this appointment, GIU looks forward to Dr. Sinh’s contributions in advancing academic research, international collaboration, and mentorship of students and scholars worldwide.
