Truth. Power. Legacy.

The Dr. Malcolm X (h.c.) School of Foundational Black American Studies at GIU is dedicated to reclaiming narratives, celebrating culture, and advancing justice. Offering first-of-its-kind Diploma, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degrees in over 15 distinct specializations, the school explores the rich tapestry of Black American history, art, politics, spirituality, science, and social movements. With programs such as Black Americans & Critical Race Theory, Black American Music, Black Americans & U.S. History, and Black Americans’ Inventions, students gain deep, interdisciplinary insights rooted in truth and empowerment. Named in honor of Malcolm X, a global symbol of Black dignity, resistance, and transformation, the school instills a legacy of critical inquiry, cultural pride, and community leadership. Graduates emerge not only as scholars but as agents of change, equipped to challenge injustice and build a future where Black American voices continue to shape the world.
