
GIU Appoints Dr. Willard Emmanuel Tan as Affiliated Professor and Doctoral Advisor
Graham International University (GIU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Willard Emmanuel Tan, a distinguished Singaporean academic and interdisciplinary scholar, as Affiliated Professor and Ed.D. & D.B.A. Student Advisor. This appointment reflects GIU’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its global faculty network with experienced educators and industry-linked scholars.
Dr. Tan brings over a decade of international academic experience, having served as a sessional faculty member, module leader, and dissertation supervisor across universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, and Singapore. His teaching and research span a wide range of disciplines, including business management, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data science, and educational leadership.
Currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Business Analytics at Golden Gate University in the United States, Dr. Tan also holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including a Master of Science in Computer Science (Distinction) and a Master of Research in Higher Education. His academic work is complemented by strong industry engagement as Managing Director and Lead Consultant of a Singapore-based training and consulting firm, where he advises organizations on strategy, analytics, and digital transformation.
An accomplished educator and mentor, Dr. Tan has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research projects to distinction level and has contributed extensively to curriculum design, faculty development, and quality assurance initiatives. He is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and the Academy of Marketing Science, underscoring his scholarly impact and professional recognition.
In his role at GIU, Dr. Tan will support doctoral candidates in the Ed.D. and D.B.A. programs, providing guidance in research design, methodology, and academic writing, while also contributing to teaching, curriculum development, and academic mentorship.
